Using "Remember"

The verb « remember » can be followed by a gerund or to + infinitive…
… and depending on the one you use, it will change the meaning of remember.
1) Remember to + infinitive : to not forget to :
- Remember to phone your mum back after work.
- Remember to save your important documents on an external drive.
2) Rember + ing : to remember something that happened in the past :
- I remember kissing someone at the party. I am just not sure who.
- I remember putting the car keys in my pocket.
